Really good information from local travel agents Global Affair for neurodiverse passengers.
𧩠Did you know some airports have sensory or quiet rooms?
For many autistic and neurodiverse travellers, or those with sensory sensitivities, airports can feel overwhelming. Bright lights, loud announcements, busy crowds and long queues can all add to the stress before a holiday has even begun.
That's why an increasing number of airports are introducing **sensory rooms or quiet spaces** designed to provide a calmer environment before your flight.
These spaces may include:
π Soft lighting.
π Reduced noise levels.
π Comfortable seating.
π Sensory equipment or calming activities.
π A quiet place to relax away from the busy terminal.
Every airport is different, and not all offer the same facilities, so it's always worth checking what is available before you travel.
If you or someone you're travelling with is autistic, neurodiverse, or has another hidden disability, you may also be able to request **Special Assistance** from your airline or airport. This can make your journey much more comfortable, from arriving at the terminal through to boarding your aircraft.
At Global Affair, we're always happy to help you understand what support may be available before you travel. If you're unsure where to start, just get in touchβwe'll happily point you in the right direction.
Because everyone deserves to begin their holiday feeling relaxed, supported and ready to enjoy their trip. βοΈπ
