14th Torbay Scout Group

14th Torbay Scout Group Welcome to the 14th Torbay Scout Group! We believe you learn more when you're relaxed and having fun together! We are open to boys and girls.

Our group is run by enthusiastic, friendly volunteer leaders who have a passion for sharing Scouting adventures with our young members, teaching them 'Skills for Life'. We help develop teamwork and leadership skills, allowing our young members to grow in confidence and make new friends. Beaver Colony (6 - 8 years) Tuesday evenings 5:30pm - 6:45pm
Cub Pack (8 - 10 ½ years) Wednesday evenings 6:30p

m - 8pm
Scout Troop (10 ½ - 14 years) Friday evenings 7pm - 9:15pm

Adult Volunteers (18 years +) we'd love an extra pair of hands to help! Any time you can give would benefit our young members greatly. If you would like to join the fun please do not hesitate to contact us. Scouting is worldwide and we'd love to welcome you to our group so your Scouting adventure can begin.

📚 WE’RE OPEN! OUR COMMUNITY LIBRARY IS HERE! 📚

We’re really excited to launch our Community Library, a partnership between 14th Torbay Scout Group and St. Paul’s Church, opening up books, stories and a love of reading to our whole community. ❤️

Whether you’re looking for a new adventure, a gripping mystery, a children’s favourite or simply something to enjoy with a cup of tea, there’s something waiting for you on the shelves!

📍 You’ll find our Community Library at St. Paul’s Church, Preston, Paignton.

For information about when the church is open and when you can access the library, please check out the St. Paul’s Church website.

📖 Want to borrow a book? It’s easy!

📚 Choose a book
✍️ Complete a borrowing slip and pop it in the box
❤️ Take it home and enjoy it
🔄 Within 4 weeks, return it to our returns box
📖 Then come back and find something new to delve into!

And we’d LOVE to hear what you think! ⭐

Once you’ve finished your book, complete a book review form and pop it in the box. We’ll collate your thoughts and share some of your reviews and recommendations in the St. Paul’s Church newsletter.

A little favour from us… 💛

Our Community Library is built on trust, honesty and community spirit 🫶🏻 It’s completely free to use, but it can only work if we all look after it together. Please take care of the books, return them within the four weeks and help us keep the shelves stocked for the next reader.

Every returned book means another person in our community gets the chance to discover a new story. 📚✨

So come along, have a browse, borrow a book and get reading!

Paignton Carnival 2026! 🦋🦒🐘

🎉🦁 A huge thank you to everyone who came along and supported us at the carnival! 🦋🐢

Our Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and volunteers/parents did an absolutely fantastic job. The young people looked amazing in their endangered animal masks and proudly carried their banners, helping to spread such an important message. 🌍🐘🦜

We're excited to share that we came🥈 2nd place in our category! A brilliant achievement for everyone involved! 👏

Thank you to everyone who helped make the evening such a success, whether you walked with us, helped behind the scenes, or cheered us on along the route. We couldn't have done it without you! 🦒🎉

🌟 A huge congratulations to Tommy! 🌟

Tommy received a special award from his Cub leaders for truly living his Scout values, going above and beyond completing a sponsored walk from Paignton Harbour to Torquay Harbour to raise money for his younger brother's autism unit to help buy much-needed sensory equipment. 💚 He's purchased a big water run, a big box of sensory toys and a hammock with a stand ✨

Tommy raised £465 through his determination, kindness, and big heart. His efforts have made a real difference, and we couldn't be prouder of everything he has achieved.

What an inspiring young role model—well done, Tommy! 👏🏻🎉

🚒🔥 A fantastic evening for our Scouts!🔥🚒

We had a brilliant time visiting Paignton Fire Station, where the crew gave us a tour of the fire engine and showed us all the amazing equipment they use to help keep our community safe. 🚒👨‍🚒

We *almost* got the chance to have a go with the hose reels... 💦 but the crew were called out to an emergency before we could. It was a great reminder of the important work they do every day. ❤️

A huge thank you to everyone at Paignton Fire Station for taking the time to show us around—we had an amazing visit! 👏💜
