Marldon Community Composting Scheme Garden waste is a valuable resource, the community composting site keeps the goodness local. Marldon Community Composting is OPEN Weds & Sundays, 2pm to 4pm.

Sited next to the Church House Inn Car Park in Marldon.

Our shredder cannot deal with stuff that is fiberous & doesn't cut! We recently had an old clematis/wisteria type pile dropped off, & it just wraps itself around the shredder blades and jams the machine. So we are now cutting it up into small pieces using hand secateurs.
We also can't process the following:-
Palm leaves or stems
rootballs
tree stumps
Bamboo
New Zealand flax (Phormium)
branches over 2" diameter
soil
stones

Please help our volunteers by sorting your garden material into seperate lots - one of green, sappy material like grass clippings (cut up small) and the other lot being brown material like sticks, twigs, branches.
