So, tomorrow our Drill Team will head off to HMS Raleigh to compete and represent Cornwall at the South West Area Drill Competition.
We were lucky enough to have our final practice session at HMS Raleigh last Sunday, where the team proved themselves ready to show what Cornwall can do!
Best of luck to them all.

On Sunday, we were invited to attend St Merryn Church for their HMS Warwick Memorial Service. HMS Warwick was sadly sunk off the coast of Padstow on 20th February 1944 and both Padstow and St Merryn hold annual services to remember those who were lost.
It was an honour for a small group of our cadets and adults to attend.

On Friday 13th February we hosted our Annual Awards. This is our yearly opportunity to celebrate all that our fantastic young people have achieved over the last 12 months and recognise their individual successes and hard work.
We were pleased to be joined this year by representatives from even more local organisations, including the Padstow Royal British Legion, Padstow Town Council, Nadelik Lowen Padstow, Padstow Harbour Commissioners and Padstow Sailing Club. Along with lots of other parents and supporters.
Thank you to District Officer, Cornwall District SCC for being our VIP for the evening and presenting the awards.
A wonderful evening had by all and huge congratulations to all our winners.

Huge thank you also to Padstow Social Club for hosting us for this event.

NOTE - Apologies to the quality of the photos. Sadly we could not get the lighting right and the brightness of the screen in the background did not do our duty photographer any favours.

Laat weekend we attended the Cornwall District Drill & Piping Competition and what a weekend we had!
Our Standard Party Team put on a fantastic display and came away as Winners in their category. They will now progress to represent Cornwall at the South West Area Competition in March.
Cdt Ben represented the Unit in the Individual Piper Competition, coming a very respectable 3rd Place. A great achievement for his first ever competition.
And last but not least, our Junior Cadets also put on a fantastic display to come 2nd in the Junior Drill Competition.
Huge well done to them all!
