Thank you so much to Greens of Padstow who have joined the Marie Curie Padstow to Rock swim as an official sponsor.

Based in Padstow, Greens is a wonderful family owned restaurant serving wholesome food with a beautiful view.

With Greens helping to cover some of the costs associated with the swim more money can be raised for Marie Curies services. Supporting people at the end of their life and those closest to them.

There are over 1500 beaches in the UK and a wealth of other swimming spots. If you don’t live in a coastal area, but are thinking about taking on Padstow to Rock, you may wonder where shall I train? 🤔

But swimming spots are often closer than you think.

Hannah from Bristol who took part in Padstow to Rock last year had a similar thought. Then she found a variety of places to swim around Bristol, including Bristol Harbour!

Here is Hannah and her friend Joe after training in the harbour. And after completing the Padstow to Rock swim in 2024, Hannah said ‘ when I signed up for the swim I really wondered where I would train, but when we started looking, we found loads of places around Bristol and the South West and it was so much fun trying them out. There were certainly some I would recommend over others 😃

We're not just counting down to Christmas....we are also counting down for the Padstow to Rock swim ballot!! 🎊

The ballot closes on the 19th December and completed ballot forms must be received by first post, on Monday 22 December 2025.

Thinking about taking part once again, one past swimmer said 🗣️

"Totally loved this event!! Did it with my 13 year old daughter and loved that we could swim it together. A really well organised and supportive fun event in a beautiful setting!"

This year at Padstow to Rock, our wonderful volunteers Lynda Thomas and Janice Broom were presented with the Jo Downs Glass Trophy and Sarah Hawkins Trophy 🏆

These trophies are awarded for exceptional commitment to the swim.

Lynda who was the community fundraiser for Marie Curie for just over 30 years until her retirement is now a volunteer and she has worked tirelessly on the swim since it began supporting Marie Curie.

And Janice has dedicated many hours helping process all the ballots we receive and working on registrations on the day.

Congratulations Lynda and Janice, your contributions are invaluable 💛✨
