Unfortunately, the beaches are open and there is no Safety Cover.
We are so lucky to live in a community where so far 26 Non Paid and Unemployed, fully trained Lifeguards have volunteered to watch over the beaches on an informal basis.
These lifeguards have No Insurance and No PPE yet are prepared to risk their own safety to help others who get into trouble.
5 of the volunteers were involved in the incident at Constantine and Treyarnon on the 25th May where sadly a man died.
The lifeguards are trained in PREVENTION and want to be able to top an incident escalating before it ends in any more tragedies.
