At Harlyn Surf Lifesaving Club, our mission is to train the next generation of lifesavers. However, we believe that safety on our beaches and in our village is a community-wide effort.
We would like to invite everyone 14 years and over to a Community First Aid & Defibrillator Awareness Evening at St Merryn Church Hall on Wednesday 10th June 2026.
Led by our Club President, Dr Steve Derry, this 90-minute session is designed to be informal, practical, and accessible for everyone.
What we will cover:
Recognizing a cardiac arrest.
Performing effective CPR (the "how and why").
Using a Community Public Access Defibrillator (AED) with confidence.
A chance to practice your skills on our training manikins with guidance from our qualified club first-aiders.
There are no certificates or "tests"—just an opportunity to gain the confidence to act if a neighbor or visitor ever needs your help.
Event Details:
Time: 7.00pm-8.30pm
Location: St Merryn Church Hall
Refreshments: Tea/Coffee/Biscuits will be provided.
As a small local charity, we are proud to support the St Merryn community. While the event is free to attend, any donations to the club on the night would be gratefully received to help us maintain our training equipment.
