Padstow & District Community Transport have some exciting news! We have a new minibus…
Our one that you would have seen out and about was ten years old and had picked up numerous dings and dents. We were able to trade it in against the one you see here!
Thanks to an incredible Crowdfunder campaign which raised £19,179 and a The National Lottery Community Fund grant of £20,000 we have been able to purchase a Peugeot Boxer 16-seater minibus with accessibility ramp.
The Charity’s mission is to provide and maintain community transport facilities in the Padstow and District area for the benefit of any persons who have need of such facilities due to poverty, disability or age; or those living in isolated areas where there is no adequate public transport facility; and for use by charitable and community organisations who are affiliated to Padstow and District Community Transport.
We provide weekly transport for a senior citizens group in Padstow and for people to attend two well-being cafés with The Oasis Centre.
The grant and the new minibus will enable our community to be more environmentally sustainable as it supports projects that help communities care for, improve, or benefit from the environment.
Visitors to the Oasis Centre-Cornwall spend time in their wellbeing garden helping to grow produce, potter in the shed and enjoy barbecues in the summer.
The new minibus will be used by many local organisations including Beach Guardian so that people can spend time connecting with nature and cleaning our local beaches, local schools who visit Trevisker Community Meadow for rewilding projects, Padstow Sea Cadets and the Padstow Rowing Club.
We’re very grateful to everyone who contributed to the Crowdfunder and our project was made possible thanks to National Lottery players.
