Perseverance Area Residents Group

Perseverance Area Residents Group Our Residents Group was formed to tackle problems in our local area. Perseverance Mill site and disre Welcome to our Perseverance Area Residents Group website.

We initially formed to tackle an ongoing issue of fly tipping on the allotments on Beech Street and the state of four empty houses grouped together on Beech Street. The group aimed to get the council to clear up the allotments, and then actively sought tenants to bring them back into use. This has been achieved. The group aimed to get the landlords of the properties to bring the houses back to the

re former glory and become habitable. Part of this has been achieved to date. We also thought that more could be done in our local area. We started off as Beech Street Residents Group, then expanded to Perseverance Area Residents Group as our focus became the whole area around the derelict mill site. Since we started we have achieved many things that are regularly reported on this site. The group aims to carry on improving the neighbourhood and develop a strong community backbone and pride in our area.
