The Community Storehouse send a huge to kmfm Radio and all their listeners for including our foodbank The Community Storehouse - PW in their recent annual Tonnes of Tins campaign.

Over the last 3 weeks £15,350 was given by Kent listeners, plus actual food tins. This has been used to purchase large quantities of food. This week it is being shared out and delivered to 19 Kent foodbanks.

We received our share on Monday 3 August - an enormous quantity of food which will keep us going for another few weeks.

This has helped enormously in stocking up our very empty shelves (not unusual at this time of year).

Further information about the end results of this project will be announced on KMFM breakfast show on Friday 7 August - https://www.kmfm.co.uk/promos/tonnesoftins2026

Community help needed ...
We are so grateful to everyone for their enthusiasm about the Foodbank's purchase of The Wesley Centre building but now come to ask the community for a little help. The building is very run down and whilst we can try and resource the urgent jobs like heating, electrics and damp we could really do with some community help in other areas:

- Garden clearing - there are a lot of overgrown trees and ivy that need clearing as well as some areas we would love to tidy up and plant to enhance the property. If anyone could volunteer to help us that would be amazing.

- Fencing - when we clear the overgrown trees at the side we will need to replace 3 or 4 fence panels. Is there anyone in the community who could help us with that please.

- Lino - there is a small hallway area that has extremely worn dirty lino that we would love to replace to make the whole building look cleaner and more welcoming. If anyone can help with either supply or fitting that would be amazing. Or if you have lino tiles left over from a renovation that might help us etc.

- Carpet - we are setting up one of the rooms as a small meeting room to let out and it could really do with fresh carpet. If anyone could help with supply and fitting that would be brilliant. Or again if you have a reasonable sized cut off then we could try and find someone to fit it. If anyone has a dining table and chairs you no longer need that we could use in there as a meeting table that would also be amazing

If you have any other skills and you would be willing to donate us a bit of time we would be so grateful to hear from you. Please feel free to message me if you prefer.

Thank you in advance

The Trustees of The Community Storehouse (Paddock Wood foodbank) are absolutely thrilled to confirm we have today competed on the purchase of The Wesley Centre. We are now the proud owners of our own property!! This is such a relief for us to know we have a safe space to continue our work and support the residents of Paddock Wood.
