1. Why UWT- UK?

UWT was formed in 1962 in Tanzania with head office in Dar -es Salaam, first chairman was Bibi T**i Mohammed. Since then UWT has played in major roles in shaping the country, In 1965 UWT took part in mobilizing thousands of women against a mutiny of the army. Today UWT members are seating in the Tanzania Parliament. To promote Tanzanian women economically, politically, culturally and education.

Work closely with the government and the ruling party.
3. To fight for the respect and justice of women in Tanzania. UK is among one of the countries with a huge number of Tanzania migrants living in different counties. Having a UWT branch in UK will give each Tanzania women in UK opportunity to have their concerns heard at the parliament back in Tanzania. Yes you are life is here in UK now but you have family back in Tanzania that your concerns may not develop your life here but can develop your family back home.
