Wolvercote Neighbourhood Forum

Wolvercote Neighbourhood Forum The Wolvercote Neighbourhood Forum represents the community in influencing planning developments in north Oxford. Help us keep it green and clean !

North Oxford residents are concerned that new developments, such as the Gateway and the Paper Mill, are not going to address our housing needs in our best interest and will increase pollution and traffic if the developers are allowed to implement their plans unfettered. We want sustainable, eco-friendly developments (neutral carbon) to take Oxford into the future. Developers are ignoring the Carbo

n Paper and Code for Sustainable Housing in the pursuit of greater profit margins. We are enlisting the aid of legal advisor, environmental consultants and we need to employ a project manager: we also have the running costs associated with our campaigns. We need more researchers and funds to support our upcoming media strategy. We want to do our best in the local effort in keeping Oxford green and clean. If our campaign is successful in influencing the council to pass planning permissions that meet the community's conditions, then the results will be seen immediately, and more importantly, we will be safe-guarding Oxford and its residents for the future.

Here's the AGM Agenda for you to note.

05/11/2024

At the AGM on the 20th of November we will be asking for new members of the Steering Committee. Would you like to find out what is involved? Or are you decided and want to let us know you’re standing? Get in touch!

We have funds to administer and this has to be done in an accountable way. Help the Committee to be accountable to the Community.

An advance “save the date” notice: the Wolvercote Neighbourhood Forum AGM will be on 20th November. The WI will be providing both savoury and sweet food, as well as teas & coffees.

Committee elections are on the agenda; anyone with some expertise, energy, and a capacity to help even out the workload government requires of us as a statutory body is welcome to put their names up, talk to the present committee, or be co-opted!

British voluntarism is a great tradition. The coming decade in the area is going to be full of activities and the WNF will be more and more involved. Now is a good time to pick up the baton.

An update on CIL applications and WNF doings this year will be accompanied by speakers (TBA).

This meeting will be held in Cutteslowe, the northern half of which lies in Wolvercote Ward.
