🐴 Why we chose to become a Community Interest Company (CIC)
Our Equine Assisted Learning (EAL) business in Gloucestershire was set up for one simple reason: to support people through meaningful, horse-centred learning experiences that benefit wellbeing, confidence and personal growth.
Becoming a CIC means our work is legally focused on community benefit, not private profit. Here's what that means for our local community:
🐴 Money stays local and purposeful-
Any profits we make are reinvested into our programmes, facilities and horses - helping us expand access and improve support we offer.
🐴 Supporting real needs through EAL-
Our work helps children, young people and adults build confidence, emotional awareness, communication skills and resilience through safe, guided activities and interactions with horses.
🐴 Trust, care and transparency-
As a CIC, we are required to clearly demonstrate how our work benefits the community, giving families, schools and stakeholders confidence in what we do and why we do it.
🐴 Opportunities for people in Gloucestershire-
We aim to create volunteering opportunities, corporate days and inclusive learning experiences that support wellbeing and personal development across our community.
🐴 Long term sustainability-
Being a CIC allows us to run professionally while staying true to our values - working with schools, local organisations and funders to ensure our services are here for the long term.
In simple terms:
Our CIC uses EAL as a powerful tool for positive change - making sure that everything we do benefits people, horses and the wider Gloucestershire community.
