Sundial Centre for Education on Harmful Practices

Last week, Sundial’s Board of Trustees came together to shape and agree the key priorities for our next three-year strategy.

We’re excited to share that Sundial has established a comprehensive set of priorities to strengthen our work to prevent and combat FGM, HBA, TMA and other harmful practices.

As a centre for education, learning and awareness on these critical issues, our team remains committed to creating lasting change and strengthening safeguarding for victims and survivors.

Over the next three years, we will continue to work closely with grassroots communities and organisations, while expanding our learning programme to reach a wider range of educational establishments. Our ambition is for Sundial to be a go-to organisation for education, collaboration, lived experience and knowledge-sharing in this vital area of work.

We look forward to strengthening our existing partnerships, building new ones, and working collaboratively to create safer, more informed and empowered communities.

Together, we can continue to drive meaningful and lasting change.

Sara Kahsai grew up in Sudan but moved to Birmingham in 2022. As she settled into married life and her new home, she had to come to terms with a life-changing discovery: that she was a victim-survivor of Female Ge***al Mutiliation (FGM):
