ORFC - Oxford Real Farming Conference Bringing the real food and farming movement together.

The Oxford Real Farming Conference has developed over the last thirteen years to become the unofficial gathering of the real food and farming movement in the UK. Working with partners, the conference brings together farmers, growers, activists, policy-makers, researchers and all those who support agroecology, including organic and regenerative agriculture and indigenous systems.

If you believe that everyone should have access to land and nutritious food, that land reform is needed to nourish our people and planet, and that we are all connected to the Earth - then ORFC is for you!

Volunteering at ORFC is a way to meet likeminded people, play a crucial role in gathering the agroecology movement and learn lots about food sovereignity, farm practise, labour justice, reciprocal relationships with nature, and so much more!

Apply to volunteer at ORFC 2027 (January 7-8) at orfc.org.uk. The deadline is 26th October - but we'll be accepting applications on a rolling basis, so we recommend applying early to avoid disappointment.

You can also apply for a bursary to attend ORFC or purchase online and in-person Supporter and Pay-it-Forward tickets on our website.

In the face of continued heat and low rainfall, can agroecology bring hope?

As we enter this year’s fifth heatwave, with drought declared in many parts of England and Wales, farmers and landworkers working hard to keep crops alive and care for livestock.

ORFC Communications Coordinator Carla Hill caught up with three farmers using organic and agroecological methods to create solutions to this summer’s extreme weather - and other challenges in our food system in the process!

Are you eligible for a bursary to cover your costs at ORFC 2027?

ORFC is the go-to place to learn about food and farming, build new connections and explore practical ways to move towards a more just and resilient food system.

We are committed to making ORFC an equitable and radical space. This means taking steps to continually improve the accessibility of ORFC for all the communities who make up our food system - from producers and other food system workers, to eaters, food processors and communities experiencing food insecurity.

At ORFC 2026, we awarded over 350 bursaries for our in-person and online conference. If you meet one or more of the following criteria, you could receive financial support to cover your ORFC 2027 conference ticket, accommodation and/or travel:

• You are a Black person
• You are a person of colour
• You identify as LGBTQIA+
• You have a disability
• You work part-time, are unemployed or have low-waged work
• You can share another way you are experiencing inequity

So if you are in an unrepresented group in food and farming and are passionate about changing our food system for good, then we want to hear from you!

You can apply for an in-person ORFC 2027 bursary on our website. The deadline to apply is Thursday 3rd September 2026, midday. Applications for online bursaries will open in the autumn.
