A strong strategy is the backbone of effective AI in health. And most EU countries already have one.

With clear frameworks for how health data is collected, stored, shared, and protected, these countries are better prepared to develop and use AI systems that patients and clinicians can trust.

Our new report, co-funded by EU Health and Food Safety, captures the state of health AI readiness across the EU: https://bit.ly/4vGdAf1

🌍 WHO Key Facts on Adolescent Health

πŸ“Œ Over 1.5 million adolescents and young adults aged 10–24 died in 2021 β€” about 4,500 every day.

πŸ“Œ Injuries, violence, self-harm, maternal conditions, and drowning remain leading causes of death among young people.

πŸ“Œ Half of all adult mental health disorders begin before age 18, yet many cases go unnoticed and untreated.

πŸ“Œ Early substance use increases the risk of addiction and long-term health challenges.

πŸ“Œ In 2021, the global birth rate among girls aged 15–19 years was 42 births per 1,000 girls.

Young people deserve access to health information, mental health support, protection, and opportunities to thrive. Together, we can create safer and healthier futures for adolescents worldwide.
