Young Creative Producers at the Ashmolean Museum have been inspired by The Caribbean Living Room to create an installation called 'Shedding Light' in the European Ceramics Gallery.

Today, in pop-up talks, they will share details of the display and reveal links between ceramics and the sugar trade.

The Annual Windrush Memorial Service is taking place at John Bunyan Baptist Church today.

Special guest preacher is the Reverend Chris Andre Watson.

The service starts at 10.30am followed by a community lunch at 12.30pm.

Diverse artists in painting, sculpture, installation, textiles, photography, performance and film present multiple perspectives on notions of home, identity and belonging.

Twenty five years ago, Derek James a local film/video maker and author with an international reputation, gave a keynote speech at London's Millenium Conference on Black Biblical Ancestry.

On Monday 22 June he will revisit the subject in the eighth Oxford Windrush Memorial Lecture - 'Where Are You From? Black Roots and the DNA Record, The Harvard Insights'.
