“They Came Before Windrush”
A powerful lecture challenging the myth that Caribbean people only arrived in the UK post-1948. Rev’d Dr Daniel will highlight the long-standing presence and contributions of Caribbean communities in Britain prior to the arrival of the Empire Windrush.

About the Speaker:
Rev’d Dr Pamela Daniel is a trailblazer—the first woman of African Caribbean heritage to be ordained in the Diocese of Oxford. Originally from St. Vincent and the Grenadines, she brings a rich personal and academic background in theology, Canon Law, sociology, and education.

Her deep commitment to social and environmental justice, combined with her experience in advocacy, mentoring, and community-building, makes her an inspiring and insightful voice for this year’s lecture.
