They're right, a little knowledge makes a big difference.
That's why we teach all our I.M.P.S. pupils CPR and how to use a defibrillator, as well as a range of basic first aid skills.

The clock is ticking in a cardiac arrest. Of the 40,000 resuscitation attempts carried out by emergency services in the UK each year, fewer than 10% survive.

But we can improve this; learn CPR, know where your nearest defibrillator is, and be ready to act in an emergency. A little knowledge makes a big difference!

With the warmer weather returning to the UK this week, we will probably be spending more time outside or near water.
The Child Accident Prevention Trust have produced a summer safety pack. This highlights common safety concerns you should be looking out for to ensure you and your family have a safe and happy summer.
You can download yours here...
https://capt.org.uk/resources/summer-safety-display-pack/

Whilst the warm summer weather brings lots of opportunities for fun in the sun there are also additional hazards for our little people. Simply download, print and display these colourful posters in your setting to help families stay safe this summer.

It was a great privilege to be invited to present at the Paediatric Trauma National Network Meeting last week.

The focus of the conference was injury prevention so we had plenty to talk about.

I.M.P.S. was the only injury prevention programme for children there, so it was great to share our story as well as listen to other amazing charities, schemes and experts.

Many thanks to Jess, Amber, Giles, Anna and the Major trauma service at BRHC for organising a great event.

The time has come for the wonderful Lynn to retire.
Lynn has been managing I.M.P.S. since the beginning, she piloted the programme back in 1995 and has been at the helm ever since.
Her career in healthcare spans an impressive 47 years at the John Radcliffe Hospital, at first as a nurse and then as a driving force in injury prevention education.
Through I.M.P.S., Lynn has helped shape a generation of safety-conscious individuals, many of whom will carry these vital skills throughout their lives.
Lynn, thank you for everything. You are an amazing manager, colleague and friend. We wish you a wonderful and fulfilling retirement - you have truly left a legacy that will continue to inspire for years to come.
We will miss you.
Here she is on her last commute home 🥰

In just 34 days our London Marathon team will be facing a huge challenge.

Here's Amy, she is running for I.M.P.S. this year and ran her longest distance yesterday in Milton Keynes.

She is on track with her training and is doing a great job with her fundraising, GO AMY!
