Oxford University Amnesty International

Oxford University Amnesty International OUAI is the Oxford University branch of Amnesty International, an organisation which researches, highlights and campaigns to end human rights abuses.

OUAI brings together Oxford students, passionate about human rights and the mission of Amnesty International. We focus on 3 main areas:
Awareness: OUAI attempts to increase understanding of human rights in Oxford by writing articles on our campaigns for local and student papers. We also have a schools sub-group which goes into schools and speaks to students about issues regarding human rights. Fun

draising: We hold music and club nights, pub quizzes and "Amnes-teas" to raise funds for the good work that Amnesty does. Campaigns: Amnesty is most famous for its distinctive campaigns against abuses of human rights. At OUAI we support this by holding demonstrations in Oxford, continuing Amnesty's tradition of letter writing and, lobbying MPs and corporations. We are a welcoming community, open to everyone with interest in human rights and our work. Regardless of your degree and future plans, if you would like to contribute to the OUAI activities, feel free to contact us! :)
Alternatively, you can come to our weekly letter-writing lunch on a Friday at 3pm in the Turl Street Kitchen.
