Our group meets every Thursday evening at St. Margaret’s Institute, Polstead Road, Oxford. The group was formed in the 1960s by ex-prisoners of war from the Balkans, and has run continuously ever since. We celebrated our 50th anniversary in June 2011.
Balkan dancing is great fun - invigorating, social and joyful. We have a large variety of music and dances. You don't need a partner or special clothes or shoes, just come as you are.
Most dances are danced in an open circle, with the leader at the right end.
