It's exhibition time again! The OPS exhibition is at the Oxford Westgate Library throughout May as part of . Congrats to Adrian Cubitt (), who won the award for the best print in the exhibition with 'The Art of Flight'. Highly commended also were Phil Joyce and Phil Warrington's images - go along to see them!

28 APRIL - LONG LENS LANDSCAPES - MURRAY LIVINGSTONE
Murray Livingston is an award-winning landscape photographer whose work has appeared internationally. A 2024 Scottish Landscape Photographer of the Year finalist, he has published
books and held a solo exhibition in Oxford.
In Long Lens Landscapes, he challenges the instinct for wide-angle views, showing how telephoto lenses can isolate subjects, highlight patterns, and create striking perspectives. Through this approach, Murray reveals how long lenses can unlock new creative possibilities and make your photography stand out.

31 MARCH - THE CAMERAMAN'S CUT - Colin Clarke ARPS
Colin, a documentary cinematographer and photographer, draws on fifty years behind the lens in his memoir, reflecting a life spent observing the world through imagery. In the first half of his presentation, he will explore how still photography and cinematography overlap and diverge, using stories and visuals from his extensive career to illustrate the craft. The second half turns to his photographic practice, showcasing a selection of studio and environmental portraits, including work from his ARPS panel.

14 APRIL (NEW DATE) - MEMBER SHOWCASE: IMAGINE - Rob Farrands
Consider photography as a practice—does it affect how we make and show images? Rob believes it does, shaping imagination within ideas of change and continuity. What might seem haphazard gains meaning through a developing practice over time. Practice provides a deliberate framework to see the world and exercise imagination. He will explore these ideas by sharing the results of his 15-year practice, illustrating how he has imagined, created, and sought to hold his work together as a coherent
photographic journey.

10 MARCH - THE PERIMETER - Quintin Lake
Quintin Lake presents The Perimeter, his photography project documenting an 11,000km walk around the coast of Britain, undertaken between April 2015 to September 2020. Over the next five years, he edited 179,222 images down to 1,300, accompanied by a 53-chapter travelogue, culminating in The Perimeter Book, which launched in May 2025. Quintin captures the surprising beauty and strangeness of Britain’s coastline, sharing his experiences, techniques, and reflections on this extraordinary journey in a visually compelling presentation. 3 March - PANEL COMPETITION - Judge: Phil Joyce

Phil, one of our long-standing members, will once again be judging the Panel Competition. His experienced eye and constructive feedback always make the evening both enjoyable and informative.

We encourage everyone to submit a panel; whether it’s a project you’re proud of or simply a chance to try something new. It’s a great opportunity to share your work and explore your creativity. Each member may submit up to two digital and two printed panels. Panels are usually made up of 2-6 images.

24 Feb - PHOTOGRAPHING LIFE OF MOROCCAN NOMADS - Michal Lewek
Tonight we welcome a new member who has spent recent years exploring different genres in search of a personal style; landscapes and wildlife, portraits and documentary. will share a five-day project, using film, to document the life of a nomadic family in the Moroccan desert. The presentation explores preparation, creative constraints and the realities of working in the field.

3 Feb - BREATHLESS IN NEPAL by Julian Elliott
Tonight, we welcome Julian Elliott, an award-winning landscape and travel photographer, writer and modern-day nomad whose work spans from Europe to the remote corners of Asia. His striking images and stories capture not just the landscapes he visits, but people and cultures that bring them to life. In this presentation, he takes us deep into the rarely visited Upper Mustang region - a remote, time forgotten land on the border with China. Through stunning visuals and vivid storytelling, Julian invites us to share in the challenges, beauty, and spirit of this extraordinary Himalayan journey.
