Award-winning photojournalist and author Anna Bruce takes us into the heart of Oaxaca through stunning photography and stories of its people, culture and mezcal traditions. Author of the acclaimed 'Tequila, Mezcal & More', Anna also runs bespoke Mexican experiences, offering a unique insight into this fascinating world.

6 OCT - EXPLORING THE ETHICS OF PHOTOGRAPHY - Mick
Yates
Mick will examine how photography has always shaped truth, memory and power - asking not just how we create and see images, but how images shape the way we see the world. The talk blends philosophy, technology, and decades of photographic practice. Trigger warning - some images are challenging. After a global business career, Mick is Visiting Professor of Interdisciplinary Ethics at the University of Leeds, a Fellow of the Royal Photographic Society, and co-founder of the Photo|Frome Festival.

15 SEPT - DIGITAL PROJECTED IMAGE COMPETITION 1
We are delighted to welcome Micki Aston as our first DPI judge of the season. A widely published travel photographer, author and experiences judge and lecturer, she brings a keen eye for creativity, composition and light. Come long for constructive, insightful critiques and valuable feedback for photographers of every level. 8 SEPT - LAND OF THE THUNDER DRAGON - DAVE MCKAY
Our own Dave McKay is back with another fascinating travel presentation. Join him on a journey through Bhutan, travelling from west to east along spectacular mountain roads, visiting the iconic Tiger's Nest Monastery, exploring remote villages, meeting semi-nomadic yak herders and experiencing colourful traditional festivals. Discover the landscapes, culture and people of this remarkable Himalayan kingdom, and come away inspired by both the destination and its photographic opportunities.
In the second half of the evening, members are welcome to bring along a few images on a USB stick for a show and tell - let us see what you've been working on over the summer, or get some feedback on your images.

1 SEPT - THE ART OF TRAVEL PHOTOGRAPHY - PAUL SANSOME
Welcome back for a new season! OPS kicks off with a visit from Paul Sansome. An award-winning photographer across travel, landscape and wildlife, Paul's work has been widely featured in the national press. In this illustrated talk, Paul will share the stories behind his images from around the world, together with the techniques and creative approach behind them. You'll leave with fresh ideas, practical tips and plenty of inspiration for your own photography.

Have you had a good summer? Taken some great photos? Want to get more into your photography this year? Come along to Oxford Photographic Society!
We meet in the Silver Band Hall in Temple Cowley, Oxford on Tuesday evenings between September and May. Our membership includes everyone from beginners to high achievers, working in an eclectic mix of genres from street, wildlife, abstract and landscape photography taken on anything from smartphones to top of the range digital equipment.
