🎬 Join Low Carbon Oxford North and Makespace Oxfordshire on 20 May for a screening of Power Station, a wonderful film showing real change can start on your own street. Find out what happened when two Walthamstow artists decided to take their road off the grid.

You will also be able to meet residents of Southmoor Road, who – inspired by Power Station – are embarking on their very own People Owned Power project. ⚡

In collaboration with Low Carbon Oxford North, we're hosting a screening of the documentary film Power Station.

Inspired by lockdown mutual aid initiatives, artist-activists Hilary Powell and Dan Edelstyn decided to turn their street into an energy-generating powerhouse; a prototype for a new way of living, with the hope of galvanising a wider push towards sustainable alternatives.

By turns funny and heartwarming, Powell and Edelstyn’s film is a vibrant portrait of their local neighbourhood, and a charming testament to the power of art in changing minds about what could be possible.

Two recent trials show how loan schemes shift everyday journeys out of cars:

📦 Leeds ELEVATE — 1 in 5 bought an e-cargo bike after the trial
