All WHT scholars come from very different paths of life, and forge similarly different ways forward, however all scholars share a common goal towards improving the world and creating opportunities that would help people flourish. In this video, Bryan Mier and .en shares their thoughts on structuring your applications to the Weidenfeld-Hoffmann Leadership and Scholarship program.

This year, the Weidenfeld-Hoffmann Leadership Programme welcomes 29 scholars from 24 countries, and we spent the welcome weekend to setting the tone for the year ahead; sharing stories, and starting to build connections that will last far beyond their time at Oxford.

The WHT program is unique as it blends Moral Philosophy, Leadership, and Entrepreneurship, and the space for scholars to get to know each other. It is designed to complement the postgraduate programs they are pursuing by preparing them intellectually and professionally to become leaders in their field. Activities are structured to give scholars the chance to share their thoughts and experiences from different corners of the world, making cross-learning possible and fruitful.

Major thanks to the WHT team for ensuring that the year-long program runs smoothly, and for supporting our scholars to settle in at Oxford.

The trust also welcomes our new Director & ChiefExecutive, Hilary Boulding this year.

Stay tuned as we share the journeys of our scholars this year more closely than ever! The past week has been a wonderful start, and we’re excited to see what our scholars achieve this year and in the years to come!

Our scholar recently attended this year’s Ditchley Conference, engaging in vital discussions on The role of the Fourth Estate in democracies.

She joined global thought leaders to explore how the news and information ecosystem can evolve to meet audience needs and strengthen democracy in today’s turbulent political, technological, and commercial landscape.

We’re so proud to see our scholars contributing to these conversations.

For our very first edition of Trailblazer Tuesdays, we are featuring , one of our 2023-2024 scholars, who is the co-founder of .

She is on a mission to transform education through art and social-emotional learning (SEL). Since 2017, Chhavi’s work has empowered over 178,000 children across 13 Indian states, with digital tools reaching 1.1 million globally.

Her work focuses on bridging gaps in India’s education system by collaborating with governments, educators, and communities to reimagine learning environments.

Being part of WHT Leadership Program this year has been transformative for Chhavi:

“Through mentorship, workshops, and peer learning, I’ve been able to refine my leadership skills, expand my global perspective, and strengthen my capacity to drive systemic change. This journey isn’t just about policy—it’s about advocating for holistic, inclusive learning environments that empower every child to thrive in a complex, evolving world.”

We are very excited to have Chhavi as part of our community of scholars and changemakers, and we can’t wait to see the incredible impact she continues to create!

It was such an honor for some of our scholars to join André Hoffmann today at the Blavatnik School of Government for a thoughtful conversation around his new book, “The New Nature of Business: The Path to Prosperity and Sustainability,” co-authored with Peter Vanham

André’s visionary generosity has been the cornerstone of the Weidenfeld-Hoffmann Scholarships and Leadership Programme, supporting over 270 scholars from 70+ countries to pursue graduate studies at Oxford. His remarkable philanthropic gifts—£5 million in 2015 and £9 million in 2017, matched by the University of Oxford—continue to transform lives and build a global network of changemakers.

We are endlessly grateful for André’s commitment to education, leadership, and sustainability, and for the inspiring impact he continues to make in our community. Thank you, André, for believing in the power of young leaders to create a better future.

Let’s bring in some heat from the Oxford blanketed in snow this morning! ❄️🔥

Who’s Behind the Mask? 🎭✨ Can you name the scholars in these photos? Drop your guesses below! 👀

In typical Oxford style, our scholars enjoyed an evening of warmth, laughter, and a touch of mystery at the Keble College Masquerade Dinner. Grateful for magical nights, meaningful connections, and memories that will last long after the masks come off. ❤️
