Join us for Oxford Arab Society's first ever black-tie ball! Themed 1001 Nights (الف ليلة و ليلة) come and celebrate Middle Eastern and North African culture with an evening of live music, performers and great food.

Traditional dress or black-tie encouraged but anyone in costume will be turned away.

Come and join us on the 26th April for our first speaker of term, Haifa Al Kaylani, the President of the Arab International Women’s Forum.

Haifa holds senior roles in Harvard Advanced Leadership Initiative Director’s Advisory Council, London’s Arab British Chamber of Commerce among others.

In collaboration with Oxford Diplomatic Society, we are excited to be (virtually) hosting Dr Marwan Muasher on the 25th of January for a talk under the title 'The Arab Revolutions: A Spring of Hope or a Winer of Discontent'.

After serving both as Foreign Minister and Deputy PM of Jordan, HE Dr. Marwan Muasher is currently the vice president for studies at the Carnegie Endowment. Previously, he was senior vice president of external affairs at the World Bank. He has also held the posts of Minister of Information, Jordanian ambassador to Washington, and Jordan’s first ambassador to Israel. While in Washington Muasher negotiated the first free trade agreement between the United States and an Arab nation.
