If you missed our Open House meeting – you missed a treat: an incredibly impressive first-ever club speech from new member Racquel (including mention of her worldwide claim to fame) and an inspiring talk from Enca on all that Toastmasters’ membership has brought her over the years. And 7 guests were each game enough to come up and try impromptu speaking, with entertaining and engaging results that seemed to surprise even them! And all were then suitably chocolate-bombed by Ryan, our “Toastmaster for the Evening” (master of ceremonies).

*Next meeting is Monday 12 May 2025, 7:15pm for 7:30 *. Back to our normal format, but plenty for guests to see and, if they wish, take part in. Just turn up. North Oxford Community Centre OX2 7DP

How great is this! North Oxford Speakers (Toastmasters) club is advertised in the Oxford Mail. Monday 28th April will be a special demonstration to show newcomers & guests the incredible benefits of developing your public speaking, presentation & leadership skills. It literally helps you, in all areas of life. This event is free & everyone is welcome! Please just show up, or if you're already a member, make sure you bring a friend. See you on the 28th April, arrive at 7.15 for a 7.30pm start (sharp) 😉

At our last meeting, we tried a new speaking challenge: A TEAM DEBATE! “Are we becoming too easily offended?” Brilliant speeches for and against and, over the course of the evening, a dramatic voting switch from the “Yeas” to the “Nays".

Next meeting we're back to our more usual format, with an entertaining mix of impromptu speaking, friendly feedback, and prepared speeches on a range of topics. Join us at North Oxford Community Centre, near Ferry Pool, Summertown. Monday 10th March, 7:15pm for 7:30pm.

North Oxford Speakers Club: a welcoming, supportive and fun way to build confidence. Come as a guest for free. Every second and fourth Monday evening.

Another energising meeting last week at the North Oxford Speakers, a Toastmasters Club based in Summertown, just north of Oxford City Centre. Impromptu topics included recommendations on TV shows to binge on and prepared speeches ranging from a self-introductory ice-breaker to positive failure to dreaming of borderlessness.
