💙 National Carers Week at Longlands! 💙

This week, we’re celebrating National Carers Week, and our wonderful care staff at Longlands have been having some fun with cakes! 🎂😄

Today was filled with fun, laughter and plenty of smiles as our staff enjoyed trying to use the cakes as custard pies! 🥧😂

A huge thank you to every member of our care team for their dedication, compassion and unwavering commitment to the residents they care for. Your kindness and hard work make such a difference every day. 💐❤️

Thank you for everything you do! 🌟

🌊🎨 A little creativity at Longlands! 🎨🌊

One of our very creative residents has been giving dried poppy heads from the garden here at Longlands a beautiful new lease of life by recycling and painting them. 🌺♻️

The result is this wonderful display, “Sea Scape.” 🌊

Each different shade of blues and greens represents the seas around the world, while the beautiful browns represent driftwood. 🌍💙💚🤎

What a lovely example of how a little imagination can transform something from the garden into a truly unique piece of art. We absolutely love it! 👏✨

Today, we said a very tearful farewell to our wonderful carer, John Paul. 🥹

John Paul joined the Longlands family over a year ago and, in such a short time, made a truly huge impact on the lives of our residents. He quickly became a much-loved and very popular member of the team, bringing joy, laughter, kindness and support to everyone around him. ❤️

His warm personality and caring nature have touched so many lives, and he will be greatly missed by our residents, their families and the whole Longlands team.

From all of us at Longlands, we wish John Paul every happiness and success for the future. Thank you for everything you have done and for making such a wonderful difference to the lives of so many people. 🌟

You will always be a part of the Longlands family, and you will never be forgotten. ❤️

Good luck, John Paul! 🫶✨

🐢🧸 A Beary Special Afternoon!

A huge thank you to Teddy Mountain for generously donating turtle Make-A-Bear kits to our home! Our residents had a wonderful time stuffing their turtles and bringing their new cuddly friends to life. There were plenty of smiles, laughter and creativity along the way! 💚

There’s excitement growing in the Longlands garden! 🍓 The strawberry plants our residents planted are now beginning to produce fruit. It’s lovely to see their gardening efforts rewarded, and we’re looking forward to harvesting our first strawberries soon.

We're looking for donations of EMPTY plastic bottles and tin cans for an exciting craft project! Whether they're from fizzy drinks, water, squash, or other soft drinks. Beans, dog/cat food tins, we'd love to give them a new lease of life

Our plan is to transform them into a beautiful flower display and show how recycling can become something creative and colourful!

If you have any clean, empty plastic bottles you'd be happy to donate, please drop us a message, comment or bring them along.

Thank you for helping us turn rubbish into something blooming lovely!
