When we launched Poppy’s Play Patch last year, we always wanted it to be more than just soft play hire. We wanted to work with good causes, support our community where we could, and help raise awareness of Smith Lemli Opitz Syndrome (SLOS) across the UK.
Last weekend was a perfect example of that.
On Sunday, we had the privilege of supporting two incredible charities by providing soft play at their events:
🎗️Children with Cancer UK – raising funds and awareness to help create a world where every child and young person survives their cancer diagnosis.
In particular, we were honoured to support Reggie and his family. Please take a moment to read Reggie’s story in the attached images.
☀️ SSNAP (Support for the Sick Newborn and their Parents) (Support for the Sick Newborn and their Parents) – supporting families whose babies require specialist neonatal care and helping them navigate some of the most challenging days they will ever face.
Both charities do life changing work for families during some of their most difficult moments, and we were honoured to play a small part in bringing a little joy to the children attending, whilst also having the opportunity to share Poppy’s story.
As many of you know, Poppy’s Play Patch was created in memory of my daughter Poppy, with a commitment to support families, raise awareness of children's conditions, and create positive opportunities within our community.
Seeing children laughing and playing with the soft play setups in memory of Poppy, while their families come together for such important causes, is exactly why we do what we do, and it's something that makes me incredibly proud.
To the organisers, volunteers, fundraisers, and everyone who attended both events – thank you for allowing us to be involved.
A special thank you also goes to Loud & Proud, (find them on instagram) who helped us create our new advertising boards. From the initial design discussions through to the finished product, they've been brilliant to work with. Super friendly, responsive and incredibly helpful. As a small business, that level of support means a lot, and we're looking forward to working with them again soon.
