It was brilliant to be joined at our Spring Alliance Gathering by 31 people, representing 25 local grassroots community organisations interested in joining OX4 Food Crew.

We organise these gatherings quarterly - one for each season - and are open to any staff or volunteers from our member organisations. Their purpose is to bring members together to share learning, resources, and insights from their work.

They are a chance to better understand each other’s roles, strengthen relationships, and build solidarity between groups. At the first gathering of each year, members collectively decide the alliance’s priorities for action for the year ahead.

The Timor Cooperative are celebrating one month since the start of their exciting food co-op. The initiative is already proving to be a big success, providing healthy, nutritious and affordable food for 16 local members, delivered once a week and helping them to make significant savings compared to buying at the supermarket.

There's never been a better time to get involved in a local food co-op. Save money, get access to healthy food plus everyday essentials, and play an active part in building and improving your local community.

Bulk ordering wholesale fruit and veg can cost significantly less than you pay at the supermarket. By buying together in groups of 15-20 houses, two typical carrier bags full of mixed fruit and veg can cost as little as £5. The more people who join, the cheaper it becomes for all involved!

A great big thank you to everyone in our brilliant local community who brought to life this year's big OX4 free festive lunch and made it such a warm and joyful day full of sharing, solidarity and collective care.

We were joined by about 400 people, including almost 150 children and young people, who all went home with surprise gifts from Santa.

Special shoutout to the 30+ people who joined our veg prep crew in the days leading up to the event and tirelessly helped with all the set-up, serving, deliveries and tidying up right up until the very end of the day.

Massive thanks to the 150 individuals and organisations who donated to our crowdfunder, helping us raise 125% of our original fundraising target, including Roundway Pharmacy Routes Coffee Hamblin Bread

We would also like to thank Savona Foodservice and Oxford Food Hub, for your giant donations of Christmas veg and to for the delicious apple crumble ❤️

Thank you Oxford Mutual Aid, Waste2Taste • Oxford, The Porch Oxford and all the other local frontline community organisations who helped us spread the word and ensure everyone who needed it could find out about the meal.
