We’re excited to welcome Simana Paul, Founding CTO at Ocean Orchestra, to our panel discussion “AI: Climate Hero or Hidden Cost?” 🌍🤖

Simana is a seasoned technology executive with more than two decades of experience building high-scale systems, data platforms, and AI/ML solutions. She’s led global engineering teams, driven complex digital transformations, and built high-performance cultures that deliver real business impact. Simana is the Founding CTO at Ocean Orchestra, responsible for shaping the company’s long-term technology vision and strategic direction. She spearheads product innovation, leads the development and deployment of robust technology solutions, and builds and mentors high-performing engineering teams to support rapid growth.Formerly Global VP of Engineering at SumUp, she’s also held engineering leadership roles at ComplyAdvantage and LexisNexis Risk Solutions. A recognised industry voice, Simana is a Forbes Technology Council member and a regular speaker on AI, data, leadership and engineering at scale.

🎤 Speaker Spotlight: Tedi Yankov

We’re delighted to welcome Tedi Yankov from the University of Oxford to our panel on “AI: Climate Hero or Hidden Cost?”

Tedi is a PhD student at the University of Oxford on the Intelligent Earth UKRI CDT in AI for the Environment, with a background in data science and politics. Tedi's research sits in the intersection of machine learning, marine ecology and conservation. Specifically, Tedi focuses on computer vision for coral reef conservation and graph machine learning approaches to the study of seabird oceanic movement networks' resilience to climate change and anthropogenic stressors. Tedi is also a data scientist at the World Data Lab working on measuring and forecasting the world's progress towards the UN Sustainable Development Goals, mainly relating to greenhouse gas emissions and development. Tedi has consulted for UN sub-bodies, governments, public and private sector clients, with work featured on global stages, in UN reports, conferences and academic journals. As a Climate Reality Leader, Vice-Curator and incoming Impact Officer of the Global Shapers London Hub iii and former UNAI Millennium Fellow, Tedi is dedicated to bridging science with social impact and youth advocacy to fight the climate and biodiversity polycrisis.
