Didcot and Oxford Superstore Supporting BLAP at the Leys Festival.

Colleagues from the Didcot and Oxford Tesco superstores proudly supported BLAP (Blackbird Leys Adventure Playground) at the Leys Festival, helping to raise vital funds for children in the local area.

The aim of the day was to highlight Tesco’s commitment to the community. We provided a free fruit and water refill station, assisted on the refreshments stand, and kept volunteers hydrated by handing out water throughout the day. We also ran a free children’s activity, where young festival-goers could get creative by colouring or making their own ‘Thank You, Teacher’ cards.

We’re proud to say that, aside from plastic water bottles, all materials used were recyclable—keeping sustainability at the heart of our efforts.

BLAP is a local Oxford charity supporting children aged 8–13 with after-school clubs, play schemes, and free school meals—all in one of Oxford’s most deprived communities.
There were no Clubcard prices available on the day 😄 but the smiles were free!

A big thank you to Simon and Paula for your support—it turned out to be a brilliant day, despite the occasional weather challenge.

Serving our communities, customers, and planet a little better every day.
