It's always difficult to know what to write on father's day. I've had a lovely day with my girls but obviously it's a day where I can't help but think of my boys too.

I read a nice post today that said, father's day is a day where you keep one foot in this world and one in the memories of a child who should be here. I think it summed it up rather perfectly.

We've had a lovely week down at Woolacombe Bay Holiday Parks in Devon.

Cassie's 1st ever holiday. Sadly the weather wasn't the kindest to us but we had a couple of nice days so still managed to get to the beach.

Both girls loved it and we've eaten enough ice cream to last us a while.

Now back to normality and the heatwave we should have had last week 🤷‍♂️

Another wonderful afternoon at the SSNAP garden party.

Always a lovely event to attend. The girls had a wonderful day, Katie had her face painted and they both loved the bouncy castles.

I enjoyed judging the bake off again. Firstly because I had to try 21 different cakes, which was actually a bit of a labour of love, but the standard was incredible. Secondly because I love the chance to see so many happy people enjoying eating them too and chatting to so many familiar faces.

We're all absolutely knackered now, but a massive thank you to Emily and all the other SSNAP staff and trustees who make it such a wonderful day for so many familys that they support. 💙🙏💙

It always surprises me when I get recognised from our running for the boys page.

Thank you to the chap who said hello and asked how we got on at Blenheim with our fundraiser whilst we were waiting at the start of Aylesbury parkrun this morning.

I was flying solo today as Cassie is teething so thought I'd go a bit quicker again. I hadn't ran much since Blenheim so wasn't expecting it to be amazing.

The first half I was running with the fast people, but I then died and tried to hang on. I thought my years PB was faster than it was so when I crossed the line just under 26 minutes I was happy. When I checked my years PB I realised it was 25.56 and I thought I'd just missed it. But turns out I officially beat it by 1 second. More by luck than judgement but very happy.

Thank you, thank you, thank you! 🙏

We did it. The girls hit their target of £300 and were both (well, Katie at least) super excited.

A special thanks to Emma and Mary for getting us over the line too.

Up next is the SSNAP garden party in a couple of weeks time. The girls will be enjoying the festivities with my family, whilst I've volunteered to help out again.

It's always a great chance to meet other amazing fundraisers and families who SSNAP have supported. Catch up with lots of old friends and meet some amazing new ones too.

First run in 12 days (since Blenheim).

Last week I had 3/4 days in bed unwell, then this week being hotter than the sun I've not been able to get out for a run until tonight.

Just a gentle one to ease me back in and it felt clompy as a first run in a couple of weeks usually does, but we're back.

I also want to say a massive thank you to those that supported myself and the girls at Blenheim, especially the very generous donation this week which has taken our total to £275, which was just £25 short of target and only £10 less than when I buggy ran with Katie 2 years ago. So a huge thank you to everyone that donated and shared/liked the posts so that people as many people as possible could see them.

There is still a week or 2 left before it closes if anyone wants to help hit the £300 but we're so grateful anyway. We know what a huge difference it makes to SSNAP 🙏 so once again thank you all so much!

Cassie and Daddy completing our buggy run at Blenheim 7k for SSNAP.

I almost missed Katie until her last minute shout of 'daddy' 🙈 oops, my brain was a bit fried by this point. I always try to high five as many kids as I can though. They love it and we really appreciated the support!

I say 'we', Cassie was fast asleep 😴.
