Wildlife Wednesday, who’s that sneaking around in the stitchwort?? As the summer starts to heat up the beautiful grasshoppers, crickets and katydids like this juvenile speckled katydids start to appear. They get the speckled name from the little black dots around their legs. Look how long those lovely antennae are!

Another very busy day at BEECHE, a big happy birthday to Mara turning 6 today, we made some great dens in the first! We also had a great time with bug club, identifying the favouritist food of our stick insects. A nice surprise for them was releasing some of the froglets we’d been raising in the centre back home in their parent pond.
