Loch Of Ayre Walkway

Loch Of Ayre Walkway Our group hopes to improve public access to and around the Loch of Ayre, Holm.

This will facilitate outdoor activity for residents and visitors to Orkney, and promote an interest in the local heritage and wildlife. Unfortunately, due to the terrain this walk is unsuitable for wheelchair or mobility scooters.

What a morning 🌬️ we're still going ahead with our event!

🌞 Weather is due to improve around lunch time
🛍️ We have lots of fantastic stalls in the Holm Community Centre - Crafters, local business and community clubs!
🍽️ Tea/Coffees, Soup, Hot Rolls and homebakes in the Games Room

🐣 The "egg" hunt is in place, you can collect a checklist from the Holm Hall
🎉 The "eggs" will be left out for the remainder of the school holidays since the weather is so poor today.

There are no eggs placed around the water side of the Broch due to nesting swans.

Join us this weekend for our Spring Fair 🐣

Raffles, refreshment, homebakes, craft stalls, local businesses and community clubs at the Holm Community Centre

🙌🏻 Huge thank you to the Holm 1st Brownies for their help decorating our eggs - how awesome are they!?
🐣 We will be setting up our egg hunt around the Loch of Ayre Walkway - bring a pen and we'll provide the hunt checklist ✅
🏃‍♀️ Once you've finished the hunt pop up to the hall for your peedie prize 🐰

🌳 We ask that all participants are respectful of the wildlife around the loch and that all dogs are leashed.
🔴 There are swans nesting along the shore side of the Broch so please stay clear of this area.
