Ireland Games 2026 Update

Firstly, apologies for the lack of updates during the Games. With 12 athletes competing across four different sports, it was a very busy few days, and keeping Facebook updated simply wasn’t possible.

Over the coming days, we’ll be sharing plenty of photos, videos, and results, but for now, here’s a brief update.

From the spectacular Opening Ceremony to the final day of competition, the Games were an amazing experience. There were early mornings, late nights, long bus journeys, and busy competition schedules, but our athletes were outstanding throughout. They showed determination, resilience, sportsmanship, and represented Team Ulster with pride.

For many of our athletes, it wasn’t just about the medals—it was about making new friends, gaining confidence, enjoying new experiences, and being part of something special. Despite being tired, they supported one another every step of the way and gave their very best in competition.

We couldn’t be prouder of everything they achieved. Thank you to everyone who supported our athletes from home. More updates, photos, and results will follow over the next few days.

esterday was a very busy and exciting day for our athletes as they set off from Omagh early in the morning and arrived in Dublin after lunch. After only a short time to settle into their accommodation in Maynooth and UCD, it was time to head to Tallaght Stadium for the Opening Ceremony of the Ireland Games.

What a spectacular evening it was! The athletes were treated to wonderful entertainment, including a fantastic performance by the incredibly talented Lauren McCreery, along with warm welcomes from dignitaries and plenty of excitement throughout the ceremony. The atmosphere was electric, and our athletes were absolutely having a ball.

After returning to their accommodation after 10pm last night, tired but full of excitement and memories, they were up bright and early this morning and heading off to the National Sports Campus and Aquatic Centre for the first day of competition at the Ireland Games.

They are super excited, raring to go, and ready to give it their all. We are so proud of each and every one of them. As we always say, they can only do their best, and their best is more than good enough.

Good luck to all our athletes today – enjoy every moment and make Team Ulster proud!

On the eve of the Ireland Games, our athletes enjoyed a wonderful farewell dinner at the Coach Inn before setting off for Dublin early tomorrow morning.
A huge thank you to the The Coach Inn for their warm hospitality and the fantastic meal. It was lovely to see the athletes spending time together, sharing laughs, building friendships, and enjoying their final evening before the excitement begins.
Tomorrow they will proudly represent Team Ulster at the Ireland Games, and we couldn’t be prouder of them. We wish each and every athlete the very best of luck, safe travels, and an unforgettable experience. Enjoy every moment, give it your all, and make yourselves and Ulster proud!
Good luck, Team Ulster – we’re all behind you!
