We're holding a pop-up shop in our office on the first floor of 9 High Street, Olney this Saturday.
There will be lots of lovely vinyl (well it is National Album Day), books, household items and some rather special bargains too.
We'll be serving delicious masala chai (just how they drink it in East Africa), Yorkshire Tea and Kenyan coffee.
And if you're interested in finding out more about how our small charity (founded in 2002) is making a big difference in the lives of vulnerable people, the charity founders will be on hand to answer your questions.

It's been a marathon to get this shipment cleared but we are today celebrating and thanking God that life-saving sunscreen is now available for distribution to people with albinism through our skin clinics in Uganda. Thank you Ultrasun UK for your generous donation and Source of the Nile Union of Persons with Albinism - SNUPA for your endurance in dealing with all the delays. People with oculocutaneous albinism lack melanin pigment which causes varying degrees of visual impairment. With our partner Source of the Nile Union of Persons with Albinism - SNUPA, and thanks to the generous support of the Ulverscroft Foundation, we have recently supported 60 children with albinism in Uganda with eye assessments and prescription react-to-light glasses. We have also developed a simple booklet to help them understand more about albinism, eye care and how to keep their precious glasses safe. The children are delighted with their glasses, which are helping them feel more assured in their daily lives and mean they can now read their books and study confidently at school.

In the rural community of Namasawo, Uganda, we’re supporting 53 young people, who have faced long, disheartening periods without education or work, to have 12-months’ training in trades of their choice. They are working towards national assessments and qualifications to help them earn regular incomes in the future. These photos from our partner SPAU show the apprentice barbers, hairdressers, motorcycle mechanics and tailors working as teams with renewed purpose, enjoying each others’ company and friendship.

Yesterday, working with our partner SPAU, we supported five young people in a rural community in Central Region, Uganda, to receive sturdy, individually fitted wheelchairs. Some have been able to leave their homes and move around their village for the first time in years. All have new-found hope and independence, and their community shares their joy with them.

Today is ‘World Skin Health Day’ with the theme "Better Knowledge. Better Skin Health." During our regular skin clinics in south-east Uganda run by our partner Source of the Nile Union of Persons with Albinism - SNUPA, alongside vital skin checks from our dermatologists, children and adults with albinism, parents and carers, are always equipped with practical tips about skin protection and staying safe from the sun. This work is dramatically reducing the incidence of skin cancer and saving lives.

In the rural community of Katungulu, Uganda, we're helping young people, out of education or work since the pandemic, to undertake practical training for twelve months with local experts and artisans. 56 young women and men are learning tailoring, building, welding, barbering, hairdressing and vehicle mechanics. They're currently working towards gaining national qualifications in their chosen trades. They are also making friends and growing daily in confidence and hope for the future.
