Paul’s Pit Stop would like to say a massive thank you to Manor Academy for choosing us as one of their charities during the last academic year.

Through a fantastic range of fundraising events throughout the year, the students have raised an amazing £253.11 for Paul’s Pit Stop . 👏💜

This money will help fund our next visit to Manor Academy, where we’ll be bringing Tom Talks to a new cohort of students, helping to raise awareness, break the stigma around mental health and encourage young people to talk. 🗣️💜

School anxiety doesn’t always look like a child refusing to go to school.

Often, the earlier signs are much quieter.

The tummy aches that appear on Sunday evening.
The increasingly difficult mornings.
The constant questions about what will happen tomorrow.
The child who seems absolutely fine at school — but falls apart or completely shuts down once they get home.

And because they are still attending, it can be easy to underestimate just how much effort it is taking them to get through the day.

These signs don’t automatically mean that school itself is the problem. They are clues that something is making school feel difficult — and the earlier we become curious about what is driving the anxiety, the more opportunity we have to support the child before attendance begins to deteriorate.
