This is great news for cycling. In addition note that Ember buses will also accept 2 bikes per journey (including ebikes). So in theory, you can take your bike on a bus all the way from Meldrum to distant cycling venues such as Aboyne, Braemar, Inverness and even Fort William!

🚍🚴‍♂️ We are delighted to announce the launch of our Bikes on Buses project, kicking off with brand new bike racks installed on all double decker buses serving the 201/202 and 35/X35 routes!

This initiative is a significant step towards better integrating cycling and public transport, making it easier for you to combine your bike rides with bus journeys.

And there’s more to come! In the next few months, we’ll also see bike racks appearing on buses serving the Aviemore network.

The project has been made possible thanks to a partnership between Nestrans, Hitrans, Aberdeenshire Council, Cairngorms National Park, Stagecoach and Moray Council.
