Tonight we had our annual cook off where cadets chose what they would cook, they had a fantastic night, demonstrated excellent team work, sharing the workload and included all cadets in the decision making process. We had chicken fajita wraps and macaroni and chorizo cheese. The winning team won with a very tasty macaroni chorizo cheese. Well done everyone.

So some really good news first we are back at Royton from 18th May (information to be sent out in due course) yes we are certified safe again 🙌 back to business firstly on behalf of everyone involved with 1855 squadron can we say a big thank you to Danny and the team from Oldham Sea Cadets who without there help and commitment to cadet forces we would have been left in the wilderness so once again from all the staff and Cadets of 1855 thank you so much.
Wednesday brought some STEM activities Cadets were tasked with creating a card roller coaster. Great effort but we found some teething problems so we have to re evaluate and try again which is what STEM is all about.
Finally a big shout out to three of our Cadets who were recognised for their commitment, leadership and handwork in their Cadet career, who were promoted. Leading Cadet Hough promoted to Corporal, Senior Cadet Cheung promoted to Corporal and Corporal Lam promoted to Sergeant congratulations on your achievement 👏
Considerations are taking place for further promotions so watch this space.

Another fantastic Month of achievements. We saw one of our flight sergeants achieve gold leadership which is a challenging course to pass, plus 6 cadets completed the bronze road march, this required them to complete two 20km practice road marches followed by two consecutive 20km road marches which were carried out in challenging weather as the weekend was hot and sunny.
Well done everyone
