Congratulations to Cpl Guinan in receiving your first set of strips.
Cpl Guinan has worked hard over the past 8 month to develop his skills and experience to join our NCO team.
Cpl Guinan had already achieved blue air rifle shot and bronze leadership and has more recently achieved youth first aid, bronze radio and cyber, bronze road march, bronze space, blue music, blue fieldcraft, silver DofE, presentation skills and is working towards master cadet classification and method of instruction to become an instructor cadet.

Last night, 4 of our NCO’s worked with the Royal British Legion to work on their banner drill. It is an honour to work with the RBL and for or cadets to represent them at memorial services.

At weekend (Royton Squadron) delivered method of Instruction (MOI) as part of sector 4 training weekend. 9 cadets including 2 Royton cadets delivered their first presentations as part of the course and will go on to deliver further presentations under supervision until they complete their final assessment to become an instructor cadet. In addition to the training, Sgt Williams from Royton passed his final assessment and now joins the team to deliver training to our junior cadets.

On Wednesday 1855 squadron was officially affiliated with the Royal British Legion Royton branch.
Major Eddy Hardaker (RTD) president of Royton RBL and Chairman Brian Douglas presented Flying Officer Bajorski with a certificate to commemorate the affiliation.
We look forward to working in collaboration with the RBL and the opportunities it presents for our cadets in representing the squadron at events such as the service of remembrance at the Royal Albert Hall.

Last week saw our cadets engage in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics) activities.
The cadets were tasked with creating a cardboard rollercoaster track involving hills, curves, loops and supports. The cadets then tested their rollercoaster by sending a marble down the track. This was met with various degrees of success but what shone through was their ability to adapt and problem solve.

June’s achievement post is a little late but we had an exceptionally busy month with cadets taking every opportunity to attend training. Well done cadets of 1855
