🏗️ Heyside Parish Hall Transformation Diary – Week 4 🏗️

The finishing line is getting closer! 🎉

Another hugely productive week on our accessibility project, and the Lower Hall is starting to look more and more like the space we imagined.

This week:
🧱 The plastering is complete! The walls are now ready for decorating, which will really start to bring the new space to life.
🚻 The new toilet facilities are taking shape. The toilets are now fully boarded, with the plumbing in place and ready for the next stage of installation.
♿ Our joiner has completed the accessible ramps and installed the new doors, making the Lower Hall much easier and safer to navigate for everyone.

It's incredible to look back at our "before" photos and see just how much has changed in only four weeks. What was once a tired and inaccessible space is rapidly becoming a modern, welcoming and inclusive community facility.

🔨 Next week: It's all about the finishing touches – the new flooring will be laid, the new toilet facilities will be installed and the decorating will be completed.

And we're delighted to say that the project remains on track for completion by the end of August! 🙌

🏗️ Heyside Parish Hall Transformation Diary – Week 3 🏗️

Another busy week, and the transformation is really starting to take shape! 🙌

Our builders have been hard at work again this week, with some important steps forward:
🧱 The walls have been fully boarded and are now ready for plastering.
🚪 New doors have been installed, improving both accessibility and the overall look and feel of the Lower Hall.
♿ New access ramps and handrails have been installed, making it easier and safer for everyone to move around the building.

It's fantastic to see so many of the accessibility improvements we planned on paper now becoming a reality. What started as a vision to make our Lower Hall a space for everyone is really beginning to come together!

🔨 Next week: The plastering will be completed and we'll start to see the new flooring being installed. We're now moving into the finishing stages of the project, and we're pleased to say that everything remains on track for completion by the end of August! 🎉

🏗️ Heyside Parish Hall Transformation Diary – Week 2 🏗️

Another week, another huge step forward! It's amazing to see our vision starting to come to life, with the building beginning to look very different both inside and out.

Here's what has been happening this week:
🎨 The exterior walls have started to be painted! It's fantastic to see the outside of the hall getting a fresh new look after so many years.
🏡 A brand-new insulated concrete floor has been laid, creating a warmer, stronger and more energy-efficient foundation for the future.
🧱 The internal walls have been boarded and are now ready for plastering, bringing the new layout to life.
🚪 The internal doorways have been widened to improve accessibility, making it easier for wheelchair users and families with pushchairs to move around the building.
♿ The first of our accessible ramps has also been installed – one of the many improvements that will help make the Lower Hall welcoming and inclusive for everyone.

Once again, we'd like to thank Oldham Council and Action Together for making this accessibility project possible through the One Oldham Fund Community Regeneration Partnership Capital Grants Programme.
