We are an animal charity established 2001, we take in and re-home unwanted and abandoned animals. We neuter, vaccinate and microchip all the animals in our care and vet all prospective homes to ensure suitability for animal and owner. We help as many animals as we possibly can, we do not have any age restrictions and never put any healthy animal to sleep. We neuter feral colonies and we also help people on low incomes to neuter their animals.

A little update on Timmy, the emaciated Chihuahua we posted about last weekend.
He is not ready to find a home yet, but he is feeling a lot better and we are pleased to say he has gained weight and is looking so much better 😍 he came to us at 1.8kg and is currently 2.4kg.

He is in foster with a staff member at the moment and his cheeky personality is definitely coming out ❤️

Yesterday brothers Jam and Marmite watched as all their brothers and sisters packed their bags and left for their new homes.

Sadly for Jam and Marmite, they havent got homes lined up 😥

They are 9 weeks old, they came to us with their mum and siblings at a few days old after being born outside.

They are lovely boys who love to play so will need lots of toys to keep them occupied in their new homes.

Both boys have been health checked, had their first vaccination, been flead and wormed and once old enough will also be neutered.

They can live with other neutered pets and would be ok to live with sensible children.

Both Jam and Marmite are litter trained and will make great additions to whoever is lucky enough to adopt them.

They can be rehomed as a pair or single (as long as they arent being left for long periods)

Pennine Pen Animal Rescue is in the running for a £5,000 Movement for Good award, and we need as many nominations as possible! ❤️

🐾❤️ WE’RE THE LAST TWO LEFT! WHERE ARE OUR FOREVER FAMILIES? ❤️🐾

These two little cheeky monkeys are the last two kittens left from their litter, and they’re still waiting for someone to fall in love with them! 🥹💕

We’ve had a few enquiries about them, but sadly, nothing has gone any further, so these gorgeous little souls are still waiting for their chance to find their very own forever homes. 💔

🐱 Meet our two little bundles of mischief! 🐱

These two are typical playful, cheeky kittens who love getting involved in absolutely everything! If there’s something going on, you can bet they’ll want to investigate. And if there’s mischief to be made, well… they’ll probably be right in the middle of it! 😂🐾

They can be a little shy when you first meet them, but give them time to settle, plenty of love and attention, and we’re sure their little personalities will really start to shine. ❤️ They have so much potential to grow into confident, loving little companions, and now they just need someone willing to give them that chance.

🏡 What sort of home are they looking for?

❤️ They can live with other neutered cats.

🐶 Being young, they should be able to adapt to living with cat-friendly dogs with the right introductions.

👧 They can live with sensible children who understand how to treat kittens gently.

💕 If adopted as a single kitten, someone will need to be at home with them while they’re still so young, as little kittens need plenty of company, care and attention.

🐾 Both kittens are litter trained.

Before leaving for their forever homes, they will be:
✔️ Health checked
✔️ Vaccinated
✔️ Flea and worm treated
✔️ Microchipped
✔️ Neutered once old enough

These little characters have had a bit of a wait for their happy ending, and we would absolutely love to see them finally get the loving homes they deserve. ❤️

🐾💙 CHRISTOPHER IS LOOKING FOR A HOME OF HIS OWN 💙🐾

Meet beautiful Christopher. 💙

Christopher sadly came into our care a few weeks ago after being abandoned at our gates in a see-through cat carrier. There wasn’t even a note left with him, so we have absolutely no idea where he came from, what his previous life was like, or what he may have been through. 💔

When Christopher arrived, he was unneutered and had a number of tell-tale scratches, suggesting he may have been involved in fights, possibly as a result of being an entire male. Thankfully, he has now been neutered and his scratches have healed.

Understandably, Christopher has found everything rather confusing. Being suddenly abandoned and finding himself in a rescue environment has left him feeling unsure and a little nervous.

But underneath that initial shyness is a very sweet, gentle boy. 💙

Christopher has needed time to feel safe and learn that he can trust the people around him. Slowly but surely, he is coming out of his shell, gaining confidence and showing us more of his lovely personality.

Now, we would love to find him a calm, loving home where he can finally feel safe and secure and continue to blossom at his own pace. 🏡💙

We feel Christopher could live with older, sensible children who will understand that he may need a little time to settle.

We also feel Christopher would be able to live with another friendly, neutered cat or a dog.

Christopher has had a very uncertain start to life, and he certainly didn't deserve to be left at our gates. 💔

All he needs now is someone willing to give him the time, patience and love he deserves.

We truly believe that once Christopher knows he is home, there is a wonderful little character waiting to emerge. 💙🐾

❤️🐾 MEET GARFIELD & LANA – TWO SWEET TWO YEAR OLD SIBLINGS LOOKING FOR A HOME TOGETHER 🐾❤️

Garfield and beautiful Lana have both arrived at the Rescue through no fault of their own, and understandably, the upheaval has left them feeling a little bewildered.

But underneath that initial uncertainty are two incredibly sweet, loving cats who we believe will truly blossom once they are in a home environment.

Garfield has started to venture out more and is discovering just how lovely it is to have some fuss and a good brush. Once he takes the time to get to know you, his affectionate side really starts to shine through. He simply needs patience, kindness and the opportunity to settle at his own pace.

Lana is also still finding her feet, but once she knows she is safe and begins to trust you, she shows her gentle and affectionate personality. She just needs someone willing to give her the time and space she needs to come out of her shell.

💕 We would really love to find Garfield and Lana a home together. 💕

We feel they would benefit hugely from having each other for reassurance as they settle into their new lives, and we would love to see them make that journey together rather than having to face another big change separately.

They could potentially live with other cats and may also be able to live with a calm, sensible dog, subject to careful and appropriate introductions. They could also live with calm, older sensible children who understand that they will need some time and space while they settle.

They may be a little shy to begin with, but we know there are two beautiful personalities waiting to shine through. 🥰

All they need is someone to give them the chance, a little patience and lots of love. In return, we are sure they have so much love of their own to give. ❤️

💗🐾 MEET CLEO – LOOKING FOR HER FOREVER HOME! 🐾💗

Say hello to Cleo, a gorgeous 3-year-old female Labrador X who is now looking for a loving forever family. 🥰

Cleo is an absolute sweetheart and is a real people-lover. She loves everyone she meets and has previously lived with children, so she could make a wonderful family dog for the right home. ❤️

She is an active girl who loves nothing more than getting out and about for walks and adventures. She walks well on a Halti and would love an active family who will give her plenty of opportunities to explore and have fun.

🎾 Cleo LOVES her toys and a good game of fetch! 🎾

She is great with other dogs and is dog social, so introductions with a resident dog can be arranged here at the rescue to make sure everyone is happy. 🐶❤️

🐱 Cats: Cleo can live with confident cats with the correct introductions and management.

Once she is settled into her new home, Cleo can be left for sensible periods of time. She also travels well in the car, making her the perfect companion for those days out and adventures.

Cleo is a loyal, loving and fun girl who has so much to offer her new family. We think she is going to make someone a very special companion. 💗

🏡 WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

We are looking for an active home where Cleo will be included as part of the family and get the exercise, attention and enrichment she needs.

Older/sensible children can be considered, depending on the individual circumstances.

Cleo's new family must be committed to her for life and understand that settling into a new home takes time.

🐾 OUR ADOPTION PROCESS 🐾

If you are interested in Cleo, please message the Pennine Pen Animal Rescue page directly.

We will first ask you to complete our pre-adoption questionnaire so we can find out more about you, your home and your lifestyle.

🏡 We carry out virtual home checks, which include photos/videos of your downstairs living space and garden, showing that the garden is fully secure.

🪪 We also require two forms of ID – a recent utility bill and photographic ID.

🐕 If everything is suitable, we will arrange an appointment for you to come and meet Cleo at the rescue. Any resident dog will need to come along for introductions, and you will be required to walk Cleo during your visit.

Please remember that submitting an application does not guarantee an adoption, as our priority is always finding the right match for both the dog and their new family.

💷 Cleo's adoption fee is £250, which includes her neutering, vaccinations, microchip, flea and worm treatment and full veterinary health check.

And, of course, all our adopted animals come with our lifetime rescue back-up. ❤️
