And Basirat Ajanaku.
Phoebe is a Liverpool-based theatre maker, facilitator, and activist passionate about creativity and its importance to community empowerment and meaningful social change.
Â
In the autumn of 2024, Phoebe worked with 35 CAN Young Artists aged 11 â 18. The project explored how young people with roots in Afghanistan, Kuwait, Syria, Pakistan, Libya, Kurdistan, Jordan, Tunisia, Iran, Turkey, Iraq, Georgia, Palestine, and Ghana had settled in Manchester and connected to the city.Â
Â
Audio recording producer Basirat Ajanaku recorded the voices of the group. The audio is featured in the powerful and celebratory short film. The film included visual art and music from the group, which they developed with musician and storyteller Godfrey Pambalipe. George Jenkins did the post-production on the film. The project was produced by Michelle Odogu, CANâs Creative Producer for Children and Young People.Â
