We are a Masonic Lodge based at Shaw Masonic Hall. We are part of the Oldham District and we belong to the Province of East Lancashire.

This page will give you information about our Masonic Lodge, The Crompton Lodge 8879. We meet at Shaw Masonic Hall on the 4th Wednesday of the month in Sept, Oct, Nov, Jan, Feb Mar & Apr. Masonry is the very best hobby any man could have as it makes you a better person and you will make lots of new likeminded friends. Our main aim is to raise money for charitable causes

Last Saturday, Crompton Lodge 8879 held their annual and very popular, race night.

This year, the Saint George's Cup raised £700 towards our charities which at the end of the masonic year our Worshipful Master nominates his chosen charity or charities.

We would like thank all those that attended the event and supported the lodge. Same time next year?

On the 22nd of April 2026 at Crompton Lodge 8879 we had two candidates excitedly awaiting their first steps into Freemasonry.

The lodge was opened in due form and visiting brethren from Werneth Lodge and Lodge of Benevolence, were welcomed by the brethren. It was soon time to move on to the main business of the evening where our candidates took the life changing steps from being admitted as Mister to retiring as a Brother.
