Meet Stewart — one of our Top Tenors, singing proudly from the back row and helping to shape the upper edge of the SMVC sound.
Stewart joined Saddleworth Male Voice Choir in 2018 and sings in the Top Tenor section. One of his favourite pieces to sing is Tell My Father, though he also enjoys many of the more recent additions to our repertoire — including Bohemian Rhapsody and Fix You.
�Some of his favourite venues to perform in have been Fountains Abbey and Huddersfield Town Hall.
For Stewart, singing is about far more than just the music. He says it gives him a real sense of wellbeing and satisfaction — especially when everything comes together after a concert. He also feels it helps keep him healthy and supports his breathing, too.
What does he love most about SMVC?�Making new, lifelong friends of all ages, the camaraderie and support throughout the choir — plus the help from Dorian, which has improved his singing and understanding of music, alongside working with two great pianists.
It’s singers like Stewart who embody what SMVC is all about.
