Some of our ladies (and a husband) went on a trip to the Amazon Fulfilment Centre recently. We all found it quite interesting. We were shown around by a very informative member of staff and two others who were with us to keep us together. We were able to ask lots of questions and watch various stages of the process of fulfilling orders, packing etc.

We had a very interesting evening watching a video showing some of the things Oldham Mountain Rescue Team get called out to. Peter Hyde from the team explained how members were contacted when needed and how every little detail regarding the rescues have to be recorded, equipment and supplies inspected. This is all done by volunteers. Amazing.

Lovely day out in Skipton with a cream tea on a canal boat.

Our guild enjoyed a very interesting talk on three ladies of Dunham Massey on Tuesday. We learned the difference between a Lady who was born of aristocracy and a Lady who married into aristocracy. Thank you to Liz Lewis for coming to talk to us.
Unfortunately they can’t locate any pictures of Mary Oldbury, who married into the aristocracy but there are photos of her daughter Mary Booth, who was born in aristocracy and a photo of her with her father. There are photos of Penelope who married into aristocracy.
