Royton Independent Townswomen’s Guild is open to new members.

We meet at St James Church Parish Hall, 38 Thornham Lane, Thornham, OL2 6UW on the 3rd Tuesday of every month at 7.30pm

Vsitors can attend 2 meetings at a cost of £4 per meeting before joining us.

We look forward to welcoming you so come along to our next Meeting on 16th June. This month our speaker is a representative from Ellen Smith Coach Tour company. Their main offering is ‘door to door’ coach holidays, they also offer day excursions. Much more information will be given on the night, don’t miss out.

To those of you who attended our meeting last night with Frank Rothwell OBE as our speaker, thank you very much for coming.
To those who couldn’t attend, you missed a treat.
Frank was so relaxed it was more like a good friend who had called in for a brew and a chat telling us some amazing stories of his life - leaving school at 14 to doing 2 trips rowing solo across the Atlantic and other adventures of him sailing around the world. Thank you Frank for making time in your busy schedule for us.

Royton Townswomen’s Guild will be hosting Mr Frank Rothwell OBE at our next Meeting on Tuesday 19th May when he will be talking about sailing the Atlantic twice to raise money for charity. Chairman Barbara Micklethwaite is opening the meeting to non members, including men, for this special evening. So come along to Thornham St James Church Parish Hall, Thornham Lane, Royton. OL2 6UW on the 19th May to help raise funds for Dr Kershaw’s Hospice. £4 admission. Refreshments from 7pm to 7.30pm.

We had an interesting evening listening to Ian Wolstenholme telling us all about Oldham Community Radio. He also had us all as a group recording how to listen the station. Ian did say he would play it on the station but it still came as a surprise when I heard us this morning on the radio. Listen on 99.7. FM/DAB/device/online 😊

Some of our ladies visited Rochdale Town Hall today for coffee and cake, we also had a look round inside. The staff in the cafe were friendly and helpful, and George one of the volunteers was very knowledgeable and accommodating. A good time was had by all.
