💻🤖 Code Explorers Has Officially Begun! 🤖💻

Our brand-new Code Explorers programme kicked off on Thursday, and what a fantastic start it was!

Led by Sabeena and supported by our amazing Young Leaders, the children got hands-on with coding through a fun and engaging introduction to the world of technology.

🎵 First, they learned how coding can be used to create musical sounds and interactive projects.

🎮 They then progressed to designing and building their very own maze games, using coding blocks to bring their ideas to life.

The room was full of creativity, problem-solving, teamwork, and excitement as the children discovered just how fun coding can be.

A huge well done to Sabeena, Haris, and Aariz for planning and delivering such an engaging first session.

We can't wait to see what our young coders create next! 🚀

🎉 Great End to the Term for Our KS1 Home Ed PE Session 🎉

We finished the term with lots of fun and energy as the children took part in obstacle courses and throwing and catching games.

It was fantastic to see everyone getting involved, building confidence, developing their movement skills, and working together throughout the session.

We were also pleased to welcome pupils from Oldham Sixth Form College who joined us for work experience and supported the activities.

Thank you to everyone who attended this term — we hope you all have a fantastic break and we look forward to seeing you again soon!

We had a full house at our Skate Zone session at OBA Millennium Cultural Centre this weekend! 🔥

To make things even more exciting, we brought out the Nerf blasters for an epic Nerf Shootout on Skates! 🛼🔫 The children had an unforgettable time skating, dodging, and taking part in one of our most popular activities.

With demand growing every week, we’ll be making a few changes to ensure sessions remain focused on what matters most — maximum fun and engagement for every child.

💎 EmpowerHer – Week 3 💎

Week 3 of our Girls Craft Club, delivered in partnership with Coldhurst and Westwood Women's Association, was full of creativity and sparkle.

The girls got stuck into jewellery making, designing their own unique bracelets and accessories. It was fantastic to see their creativity shine as they mixed colours, patterns, and beads to create something truly special.

A brilliant session filled with imagination, conversation, and lots of smiles.

Step into the exciting world of technology with Code Explorers, a fun and hands-on programme where home educated children will learn the basics of coding and robotics.

Over four exciting weeks, children will:

📚 Introducing YLN BookTopia 📚

Created by one of our inspiring Young Leaders, Hareem, YLN BookTopia is a community book-swapping project designed to encourage reading and recycling.

Children can:
📖 Borrow books
📚 Read and enjoy them at home
🔄 Swap books they have already finished for new ones

From the original idea and logo design to the overall concept, this project was Hareem’s vision, and we are incredibly proud to help bring it to life.

YLN BookTopia will be available at our Home Education sessions and weekend Family Connect programme, giving children regular opportunities to discover new stories and share books with others.

🚀 More information will follow as we get BookTopia up and running this week.

🏓 KS2/KS3 Home Ed PE

Yesterday we were back at OBA Millennium Cultural Centre for our weekly KS2/KS3 PE session.

The first hour was all about table tennis, where children had the opportunity to develop their skills, take part in games, and enjoy some friendly competition. It was great to welcome several new faces to the group.

In the second hour, the children explored a range of activities based on their own choices, giving them the chance to try different sports and have fun with friends.

🌟 Special Mention to Zachary! Who did amazing 👏

We’re taking a break next week and will return the following week.

Have a lovely week off and we look forward to seeing you all again soon!
