We're just a regular married couple that enjoy the outdoors, interacting with others, and setting goals in life. Neither of us
have formal qualifications in sporting activities but what we do have is enthusiasm, passion, and experience. Walking, running, and everything in between has taken up at least forty years of our combined lives, so there's not a great deal we haven't done or heard about. Founding Tividale Trotters was a chance undertaking as a result of a charity event that we organised, during and after which requests of a regular session from those who took part were brought to our attention. We had never considered doing anything like this as both of us always ran solo unless out together, so a group or club activity had never been part of anything we had done previously. Needless to say, being responsible for organising others was not something we were rushing into! After a couple of months trawling the internet for ideas and information, it became apparent that a fully affiliated club was not something we wanted or felt we had the time to invest in. So, on 3rd September 2015 we started the group in a very informal and community-driven way, and nothing has really changed in all this time. Yes, we have club t-shirts. Yes, we enter regular events from 5K walks up to full marathons. And yes, we now have a social home in a local micro bar. However, it's still me and Mrs G going out for an hour and if anyone fancies tagging along then you're more than welcome. Paul
Regularly meeting on Monday and Thursday evenings, with occasional Sunday's arranged on a weekly basis . We offer a choice of walking, running, or a mixture of the two. Our main aim is to increase your overall fitness level and general wellbeing, but more importantly, to have fun! Anyone wishing to come along should arrive at TiviAle Micro Bar, Regent Road, Tividale B69 2JF from 6:15pm for a prompt 6:30pm start. Walking and Running routes are usually between 3-6 miles depending on your level of fitness and you should expect to be out for at least 1 hour. Comfortable light clothing, trainers, and a drink are recommended. Prior consultation with your own GP is recommended especially if you have any medical concerns that may be affected by increased exercise. If you are interested in joining any of the groups, then please contact us or just come along. The minimum age for this group is 18.
