Thanks to everyone who came down to the surf swap last weekend! It was fab to see so many faces down at the beach.

We received around £170 in donations for the club and Wavy Quines Aberdeen , which will all go to putting on more events and resources for surfers and beach users in our city. 

Surfing can often be associated with care for the environment. However surfers and the surf industry could do much more. Some companies are changing, for example there has been an increase in the use of natural rubber based wetsuits, which have a lower carbon footprint than oil-based neoprene. However, many manufacturers still only provide oil-based neoprene which is notoriously hard to recycle. Consequently, as much as 18000 tonnes of it ends up in land fill or is incinerated each year. Neither disposable method being good for the environment or climate. So, we’re really pleased to see on Saturday many unwanted items going to new homes. 

As a club we have lots planned for the upcoming year so if you’re interested in staying in touch why not join today - membership is currently FREE if you’re a member of Scottish surfing.

What is a SWAP? 🤔

How it works!

1) - Bring along any unwanted surf gear - wetsuits, boards, gloves, fins etc.! Please only bring stuff in somewhat serviceable condition that someone might be able to use - used or even damaged is completely fine if fixable but not totally knackered!

2) - Browse the items people have donated and take whatever you like. We'd ask you to consider making a donation if you're taking something away to cover our costs and support more events. All donations will be split equally between Aberdeen Surf Club and Wavy Quines women's surf group

3) - You don't need to bring anything to swap, you can just come and browse what others have donated.

4) - The model is give and take away as you need, rather than swapping specific items with individuals, and this is not a space to sell items.

5) - Have fun and chat to us about anything surf related that you'd like to see more of in Aberdeen (apart from surfable waves of course...)

Surf Swap!!

We look forward to seeing you Saturday 29th of Aug, from 11am - 2pm.

Look out for the Aberdeen Surf Club trailer down at footdee next to Scotsurf trailer and take along any kit you would like to swap. If in doubt.....take it with you!!

We'll have some snacky bits and refreshments, but feel free to add to the mix.

Will be great to get everyone together and bring some new life to some surf kit that needs it!

Big thanks to everyone who made it along on Saturday and to Santas wee helpers who made it happen! Some amazing costumes, baubles, mulled w**e, soup, company and even some waves!!

Dear surfer,

Thank you for signing up to the Fittie Foamie Bash and for your patience while we get an update to you.
We have decided to cancel rather than reschedule to enable everyone to get a refund.
