-The Round Up 📊
This weekend saw our Responders, Controllers and all our trailer assets deploy en mass to Dartmoor National Park to support the annual armytentors
Our teams worked hard to support the Army, all 4 Dartmoor search and rescue teams and other agencies, in doing so the team has-
Volunteered a combined total of 2742 hours over the course of the setup, during and collapse of the challenge 🕰️
Driven a combined total of 8946 miles 📍- - - - 📍
Provided 58 members, split accross 13 teams, spread between 5 sperate locations 🗺️
To keep track of this our event log has had 2943 entries, detailing who, what, where and why- thank you SarStuff for your background support! 📖
Just some of the many jobs we undertook were-
5 of the infamous 10, ten tors check points were transported back to Okehampton camp by our vehicles ⛺️
1 checkpoint was collapsed, transported and then relocated (and rerolled into a support tent) by members of our team and our vehicles ⛺️- - - ⛺️
A team of Responders helped transport the entire Granite challenge campsite onto the moor, and back again the next day ⛺️⛺️
Our press officer also helped to transport 3 BBC Devon reporters into the Moor to interview participants as they made they way to the finish… we think they enjoyed it, but the back seats of a Defender is an “aquired” taste 🫨
Responders also supported with the much less glamorous…
Water resupply runs to checkpoints 🚰
Delivery of Porta pottys (like a portaloo but with no walls/roof) deep into the moor (empty 😮💨) 💩
Overall we had a fantastic weekend, and we are incredibly proud to support this iconic challenge, we are already looking forward to next year! 🥳
