Leverhulme Community Hub - Isle of Harris The Leverhulme Community Hub is in Leverburgh, South Harris. Please note the entrance to the car park is narrow and not suitable for high sided vehicles.

Please park in the village and walk back to the Hub if you are able to. The Leverhulme Community Hub is a Registered Scottish Charity No. SC051031 . It was fully opened in 2024, after a successful refurbishment, transforming it from a School into a multi-purpose community facility, and it is used by the local community and visitors to the Islands. The Hub is home to a popular Charity Shop, the Sou

th Harris Historical Society, Harris Tapestry and launderette. Coming later in 2025 we will also open a gym. We are also an Event Venue for South Harris, we have a meeting room and community room with a kitchen and servery, all of which can be hired. The Hub is managed by a team of Directors and is staffed by local volunteers. Suitable for anyone with limited mobility, arthritis, parkinsons, balance issues, low energy, or anyone recovering from illness or living with illness.

Reflections

This week has been across the UK and as it draws to a close, the time has come to say a huge thank you to all involved in hub life, those from the past, our present cast and those waiting in the wings to take the hub upward and onwards (thank you for joining the gang 🙂).

Your commitment, time, friendship, hard work and loyalty is unmatched, you all offer something unique, bringing your personalities, talent, knowledge and skills to this team.

Next week you will all be recognised for your effort when you are collectively presented with the King's Award for Voluntary Service and how richly deserved this award is. So for one last time, well done to you all and thank you for bringing the sunshine, the joy, and the laughter into this special building and to this team 🌞.

This is particularly relevant for those people who use the routes regularly, for business or personal use. Please come along and listen to the updates, share your views and ask questions.
