Greetings, my friends!

It's the first Saturday in February and that means it's Lottery day in our fine part of the world. Don't worry though folks, because there's still plenty of time to get your tickets.

As I'm sure you know, tickets cost just £1 per month, paid at £12 per year. Half of all monies is given away as prizes, and the other half is used toward the running of your Village Hall.

Join your local lottery today folks, because the more folk are in, the more cash you can win. It doesn't get much simpler that, my friends. 👍

You can buy a subscription, which means you don't even need to remember to renew. We've got you covered folks, so just follow the finger to subscribe.

Anyhoo, that's all from me.

Stay awesome, folks and be safe out there. 😎

Seasons Greetings, my friends!

Deck the halls and Ho Ho Ho!

As we look back on 2025, our hearts are full. We’ve laughed together, danced together, and had the privilege of helping families across the village celebrate their most important moments.

But none of it — not a single event, smile, or raised glass — would have happened without you.

To everyone who bought a ticket, bought a drink at the bar, or simply showed up to support us… thank you. 🙏

And to our amazing volunteers — you are truly the Hall’s heroes. Your time, kindness, and hard work keep this place alive. We couldn’t do it without you and we tip our hats to you, your warmth and your generosity. Thank you. 🙏

So, as the sun sets on another year in our little corner of Yorkshire, we’re reminded just how lucky we are to be part of such a warm, joyful, spirited community.

From The Handsome Man and everyone at Oakworth Village Hall, we wish you nothing but love, peace, and joy this Christmas. ❤️🎅✨

It’s been a blast, my friends. But for now, this is The Handsome Man signing off.

Merry Christmas — and may 2026 bring only good things.

For the final time this year, this has been the Handsome Man reporting live from Handsome HQ.

Handsome Man out.

Peace.✌️

Seasons Greetings, my friends!

Well folks, Mr and Mrs Claus have waved goodbye to our little corner of this great land and are heading off to their next stop on a very busy world tour. Before long, they’ll be back at the North Pole, feet up briefly, readying themselves for the big night.

As you can imagine, welcoming the most famous couple on the planet doesn’t just happen by magic alone. It takes time, effort, and a small army of wonderful people. And once again, we were lucky enough to have exactly that. So, with enormous thanks and in absolutely no particular order, we’d like to raise a festive hat to:

Elaine Rudak
Greg Boole
Michael Fowler
Irene Fowler
Alison Boole
Alison Wilson
John Wilson
Le Homme Handsome
James ‘Tom Cruise’ Upton
Peter Wilson
Diane Wilson
Mr. Claus
Mrs. Claus
Dasher
Dancer
Prancer
Vixen
Comet
Cupid
Donner
Blitzen
Rudolph

These fine humans (and extremely hard-working reindeer) are the Hall’s Heroes. Without them, events like this simply wouldn’t get off the ground — or the roof. We salute every single one of you. Thank you 🫡🙏

And of course, a huge thank you to everyone who bought a ticket, wrapped up warm, and joined us over the weekend. Your kind words — both in person and across social media — mean more to us than we can properly put into words. Your continued support keeps the lights on and the magic alive. Essentially, we couldn’t do this without you. Thank you. 🙏

Anyhoo, that's all from me.

Stay safe Mais Amis, and keep fighting the good fight.

Handsome Man out.

Peace. ✌️

Greetings, my friends!

We would like to say a massive thank you to everyone that bought a ticket and came to see us last night for our first ever Comedy Night. It's support from the fabulous people of Oakworth that allows us to be here, and to do our bit for our little corner of the world. 🙏

As you know, this and all other events are organised and staffed entirely by volunteers, in order that we can raise funds to keep your village hall open. We couldn't do this without our volunteers, so we'd also like to offer special thanks to:

Alison Boole
Greg Boole
Irene "Irene" Fowler
James "Tom Cruise" Upton
Emily Wilson
Michelle Smith
Chris Smith
Angela Loftus
Michael "Michael" Fowler
Mags Dearden
Jan Abberton
Danika Priim
The Handsome Man

You are the Hall's heroes, we couldn't do it without you and we salute you. 🫡

We were delighted with the response from our beautiful audience, as well as the calibre of the comedy, although we can only apologise for the final act. He was way below the level we expected and feel you deserved, and we are taking up the matter with his representation. 😔

But with that said, once again, thank you. 🙏🤞

Until next time, Y'All stay safe and keep fighting the good fight.

Handsome Man out,

Peace. ✌️
